GlobalSolver

Signified by the Greek symbol Sigma, meaning “summation,” GlobalSolver is a science policy idea building tool that brings together scientists and policy makers to engage students in the search for innovative solutions to the critical challenges of our time including meeting global energy demand, climate change, managing a pandemic, and controlling the spread of WMDs.

Students from participating institutions can load their ideas onto the GlobalSolver site and refine those ideas through direct feedback and discussion from some of the world's leading experts.

Global Solver is part of the Georgetown Digital Commons and uses marginalia commentary to promote dialogue around the text.

GlobalSolver will go live on September 2nd, 2009 as part of Dr. Slakey's seminar "Science and Society: Global Challenges".
