Workshops

Campaign School

Election Campaigns have come a long way since the days of whistle stops. They have become small to medium marketing ventures set with expiration dates. And like all good businesses, well-run political campaigns operate by the numbers, including budgets and plans. This 1/2 day workshop covers the basics of effective campaigns for scientists interested in running for office or working on a campaign. It is held in partnership with Scientists and Engineers for America, and is open to select participants including students from Georgetown and the 20 campuses that are part of the national student organization The Triple Helix.

Communicating With Congress Workshop

Every day Members of Congress are overwhelmed by public demands for action. They respond to the voices that deliver their issues persuasively, concisely, and with pinpoint accuracy. This workshop provides a 3-hour crash course on effective communication and is held in conjunction with the AAAS annual February meeting. It is open to select meeting attendees, students from Georgetown and the 20 campuses that are part of the national student organization The Triple Helix.
