Global Solver
Signified by the Greek symbol Sigma, meaning “summation,” Global Solver was a science policy idea building tool that brought together scientists and policy makers to engage students in the search for innovative solutions to the critical challenges of our time including meeting global energy demand, climate change, managing a pandemic, and controlling the spread of WMDs.
Students from participating institutions loaded their ideas onto the Global Solver site and refined those ideas through direct feedback and discussion from some of the world’s leading experts.
Global Solver went live on September 2nd, 2009 as part of Dr. Slakey’s seminar “Science and Society: Global Challenges“.
